1. Where do you typically write your blog posts?
I always write my blog posts at my computer desk as I find it helps me get into the right frame of mind. I do have a super slow laptop that I could drag out if I wanted to do it on the sofa but I find it harder to concentrate and make my headers without a proper computer!

2. How long does it generally take you to write a book review?
If I’m sitting down at my desk and ready to actually write the review it can take anywhere from 1-2 hours. Anthologies take me much longer and can take up to 3 hours as I write it all out at once.

3. When did you start your book blog?
I started my blog in April 2017 so I’m yet to celebrate my first year of blogging! I only occasionally posted opinion pieces and other random bits until June-July when I actually started book blogging properly though.

4. What is the worst thing about having a book blog in your opinion?
Like Mel, I think the worst thing is definitely feelings of inadequacy. There have been quite a few times, especially before I started making friends, where I felt really hopeless about my blog. I felt like no one cared about me and that my blogs were terrible. It took me a few months to build my confidence up and I still get pangs of anxiety sometimes.

5. What is the best thing about having a book blog in your opinion?
The community. When people used to talk about this book blogging community that I couldn’t seem to find a place in I didn’t really understand what they were talking about. But since making friends with other bloggers and having more consistent interactions on my blog it’s really boosted my confidence and my happiness! Now I always look forward to coming back to my blog to talk to everyone.

6. What blog post have you had the most fun writing so far?
I think my favourite and most fun blog post that I’ve written so far was my one on ‘Why Nine Worlds is so important‘. I wrote it just a few days after the convention was over, I was still on a complete con high and just wanted to share my love of it with everyone!

7. What is your favourite type of blog post to write?
I think my favourite types are my opinion piece blogs and they are generally my most popular blog posts! It feels nice to be able to sit down and share your opinions on a topic, especially if it’s something personal to me like my gender identity that other people find helpful.

8. When do you typically write?
I usually write in the afternoon or early evening once I’ve got some of my basic chores out of the way, and as I now work weekends I can only write during the weekdays!

9. Do you review every book you read?
It really depends. I try to always review the books I read but sometimes I feel like I have nothing to say that would be of any particular interest or I just wasn’t into the book enough to say anything about it. Aside from those two situations, I will always try to review what I’ve read, preferably soon after I’ve read it otherwise I forget!

10. How do you write your book reviews? With a cup of coffee or tea? With Netflix? Cuddled with your fur baby?
Always, always with a cup of tea. Always at my computer desk with a fun playlist on (like my 70s FM Radio Rider playlist I’m obsessed with). And preferably when Achilles is asleep and being quiet!

11. When do you write your book reviews? Right after finishing the book? Two weeks after finishing the book?
I always try to write my reviews a few days after I’ve read the book, otherwise, I will just never get round to writing it at all! I don’t like writing them immediately after finishing a book though as I often find that my emotions are too all over the place to reflect on what I’ve read. Sometimes I will feel like a book is the BEST THING EVER, but after a few days of distance from it I won’t feel so blown away by it.

12. How often do you post?
I always feel sorry for my readers as my blog posts are always all over the place. It’s definitely a lot harder now I work weekends. I’m trying to post at least twice a week but it really depends on how well I am during the week!

  1. Love this tag! Thank you for tagging me. 😀
I know how you feel about the inadequacy. I started my blog back in 2015 and I really didn’t think I would do so great at it. I wanted to give up a few times too. I think if you keep at it and posting content you love yourself, it’ll all be great. I am happy that I followed your blog recently, because I love the blog posts that you do. I had no idea what I was doing or what content to even post and sometimes I still struggle with that. I’ve also struggled with blogging regularly over the last couple years. Sometimes I just don’t know what to post and then I just fall off the face of the blogosphere for awhile. I think posting twice a week is fine. Sometimes that’s how it is for me, especially if I’m busy or can’t figure out what I want to post about.

    1. Thanks ❤ I think it always helps hearing from others who feel similarly. I follow an amazing blogger who has over a thousand followers, is super successful, posts great content, and still worries that she's inadequate. It affects so many of us. I think the first step is definitely being honest with each other, and also supporting each others work!
